On the eve of the first European Energy Congress, to take place May 14, 2013 in Brussels, it is interesting to turn once again to the assessment of Fatih Birol, the chief economist of the International Energy Agency, in which he characterizes both present geopolitical shifts and their consequences for European energy policy, also with regards to Germany’s current energy transition. Energlobe was able to ask him about this in an partly unreleased expert interview, conducted shortly after he presented the IEA’s new World Energy Outlook in London.
